Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

The Supervisor, Academic Support Advising will be responsible for all Advising & Retention Services within their campus locations. This leader will focus on providing excellent customer service and coaching support to Academic Support Advisors to meet and exceed their service level agreement with students and other departments. The Supervisor, Academic Support Advising will partner with other functional areas as needed to positively impact student retention/ persistence, student satisfaction and the student experience. The Supervisor, Academic Support Advising functions as a role model for our TEACH values and fosters a culture of Chamberlain CARE consistent with our mission, vision, and purpose.The Supervisor reports to the Manager, Academic Support Advising and has the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the new and continuing student registration process.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all academic programs, policies and procedures including institutional policies, federal, and state regulations. Complies with applicable federal and state
  • Responsible for supporting academic support advisors through refresher trainings, ensuring their program knowledge is up to date, and coaching through difficult conversations.
  • Responsible for being a change agent to ensure all academic advising & retention KPIs are met.
  • Act as the liaison for deans, faculty, and campus administrators in support of students and acts as a SME for advising & retention initiatives and programs.
  • Participate and or/provides information on student retention efforts and/or programs.
  • Represent the Advising and Retention Services department during meetings and participates in institutional
  • Handle interdepartmental escalations to provide support and come to a positive resolution.
  • Assist with the delivery of student workshops related to promoting student success.
  • Identify opportunities and solutions that improve current methods and actively participates in the change of a constantly evolving organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments and functional areas to deliver an optimal student
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • 3 yearsof customer service, academic advising, or higher education related experience Required
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of office hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking ability.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • PC skills in Microsoft Office, Internet applications and database software. Experience with Student Information Systems.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels as well as with people of all cultures.
Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $47766.34 and $86253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
