Summary



  • Come join our talented Simulation team at MaineHealth! Our center is in Portland, Maine and serves the entire MaineHealth system. We are a unique academic teaching hospital with simulation programming for:





  1. 300+ Residents and fellows in more than 30 programs
  2. 120+ Medical students from our MaineTrack program through Tufts University School of Medicine
  3. Inter-professional clinical teams from multiple service lines throughout MMC/MH
  4. Systems testing of clinical spaces and processes




  • The Sim Center facilitates more than 500 events and approximately 20,000 learner contact hours annually. The successful candidate will join a fast paced, high functioning team producing simulation events using high-fidelity manikins, Standardized Patients (SPs), task trainers with opportunities for virtual and augmented reality components. Events occur in our 18,000-square foot sim center in Portland and in clinical spaces at MMC and across MH.

    This part time, 20 hr/week position is vital for delivering highly realistic simulated clinical scenarios, including:





  1. Ensuring simulation equipment functionality aligns with stated scenario objectives
  2. Ensuring quality by collaborating with faculty before and after scenarios to revise scenario templates
  3. Preparing room set-ups and necessary manikin moulage and props in advance of scenarios
  4. Providing active patient voice and manikin programming during scenarios
  5. Transporting, setting up, and operating equipment for in-situ scenarios
  6. Collaborating with simulation staff to facilitate events that require multiple modalities
  7. Ensuring scheduled or unscheduled repair and maintenance of simulation equipment is completed
  8. Collaborating with simulation staff, IS department, and/or vendors to troubleshoot AV and simulation equipment
  9. Contributing to the Sim Center's research efforts and strategic initiatives
  10. Serving as an instructor in faculty development activities
  11. Proctoring credentialing check-offs for providers




  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)



    • Education: Associates degree or related education.


    • License/Certifications: N/A


    • Experience: 5 years in direct patient care preferred, with preference for experience with sophisticated physiologic monitoring devices or 5 years of simulation experience.


    • Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology; high degree of comfort with computer technology; high level interpersonal skills to work with clinicians and medical staff at all levels of medical care.
