NCSC is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our Internal Information Technology team.  The Infrastructure Engineer provides essential support to NCSC, its clients, and the CIO.  This role requires designing, deploying, evaluating, implementing, testing, operating, maintaining, and supporting IT infrastructures and digital networks. The Infrastructure Engineer ensures NCSC’s IT back-end systems operate effectively and ensure the best possible uptime and availability for them. Responsibilities include updating software and hardware, providing training and support to employees, and interacting with vendors and clients accordingly. Additionally, the Infrastructure Engineer will set up and maintain servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and virtualization technologies.  This role ensures the security, reliability, and scalability of the infrastructure, as well as troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that may arise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates conduct that upholds the basic Core Values of NCSC
  • Maintains the networking environment through design, configuration, installation, documentation and enforcing system standards.
  • Maximizes network efficiency by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with colleagues on network optimization
  • Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access
  • Plans server solutions by developing flowcharts, layouts, and diagrams defining system specifications, including functionality, connectivity, and security
  • Improves server solutions by conducting systems analysis, identifying problems, and evaluating alternative solutions.
  • Administers NCSC’s Active Directory environment along with new and emerging Azure directory services.
  • Manages and maintains internal and external  DNS, Virtualization, patch management of servers, PCs, Laptops, MS Windows operating systems, Office 365, and Active Directory. 
  • Possesses excellent customer services skills and has the ability to build lasting relationships with NCSC’s leaders, service providers and vendors to coordinate and execute high quality IT operations.  
  • Maintains all IT equipment inclusive of routers, servers, PCs, laptops, smartphones, and other IT equipment.
  • Employs creative problem solving for all types of IT issues
  • Supports PC / Mac computers (HW, OS, drivers, interfaces, software, etc.)   
  • Assists with maintaining a complete inventory of all IT equipment, software, and licensing costs
  • Ensures all information technology is in working order
  • Collaborates with vendor support for the diagnostic, maintenance, and support of all IT equipment including Apple devices. 
  • Provides training and support staff on the basics of using IT hardware and software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or technical degree or certification in Microsoft, Dell and/or Cisco technologies or a combination of education and experience using Microsoft, Dell and/or Cisco products that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the job 
  • 5+ years' experience in IT operations, administration, support, or engineering is required. 
  • Advanced server, router, and firewall experience is a plus.

Additional Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of industry standard hardware, software, tools, and utilities used for IT operations

  • Required skills:

o   Office 365 Administration

o   Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 administration 

o   Windows 7, 8, 10, 11 administrations 

o   Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer administration 

o   Dell Server class hardware experience Dell & Microsoft Surface hardware experience 

o   Apple iPhone diagnostic / troubleshooting experience – Must have

o   Working knowledge of IaaS platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.) 

o   Working knowledge of Hyper-V Virtualization Platform

·              Desired skills:

o   Vendor relationships and Management Skills

o   Support of all the Office 365 Suite of individual products

o   Backup / Restoration Experience using mainstream tools

o   Enterprise storage Administration

o   IT security administration (inside and outside the network)

 The annual starting salary for this role is between $83,200 - $100,000, factors which affect starting pay within the range include education, experience, and other qualifications as it relates to the position.
